Pollinator Haven and Shady Retreat
This project was a complete reimagining of an existing landscape, designed to balance functional hardscaping with a thriving ecosystem. By reconfiguring the original layout, we were able to extend the patio and revamp the walkways, creating a more seamless flow for outdoor living.
Erosion control was integrated into the design to ensure long-term stability across both sunny and shaded areas. To bring the space to life, we included a collection of the clients' favorite plants, focusing on year-round interest and habitat restoration. The backyard will now serve as a private sanctuary for birds and pollinators, visible from both the porch and the home's interior. For the front yard, we prioritized curb appeal with structural Texas Sage and a vibrant border of Red Salvia, Mexican Mint Marigold, and trailing Rosemary—ensuring seasonal color and texture.
From solving drainage challenges to inviting local wildlife back to the garden, this project demonstrates how thoughtful design can turn a complex site into a resilient, beautiful retreat.
