Sisters of the Incarnate Word Native Landscape

Zen Natives is proud to have collaborated with the Sisters of the Incarnate Word to develop and install a Texas Native plant landscape. This project transforms the grounds into a thriving, multi-functional ecosystem designed to be aesthetically pleasing while providing crucial ecological services.

The new landscape focuses on supporting native pollinators and birds while simultaneously providing effective erosion control and mitigating existing drainage challenges. Following the initial installation, the project experienced some minor setbacks related to irrigation issues. However, the native plants are now successfully establishing themselves and showing resilience.

To ensure the project reaches its full potential as a beneficial, "living" design, the next steps include:
* Implementing drainage repairs.
* Strategically adjusting the placement of additional plants to assist with slow-draining areas.
* Manipulating rainwater runoff for optimal hydration and soil health.

These final tweaks will guarantee the landscape fully achieves its ambitious goals of sustainability and beauty.
